Bumper & Fender

Even the smallest accident can leave the front of your car in disrepair. Avoid the duct tape and twine; it’s important to bring your car in for a checkup even after a low-speed collision. Most fender benders with modern cars can be fixed easily avoiding the need for the purchase of replacement parts. Modern bumper repair can be as easy as using a nitrogen plastic welder to fuse the crack back together. Tears, cracks, small holes, large dents, and impressions can all be fixed with the help of hot nitrogen gas, often making the piece stronger than before. Unfortunately, some newer cars have sensors integrated into their bumpers, which means that that plastic component may not be fixable. In that case, a bumper replacement procedure will be completed using quality parts and OEM procedures.

In an accident, fender panels can be bent and misshapen, but ultimately they are repairable. Our skilled workers can return your fenders back to their original shape after a few hours of reshaping and welding with the proper tools. Fender repair is a straightforward job unless the structural soundness of the piece has been compromised. If this is the case, a fender replacement may be in order. Since replacement parts can be quite expensive depending on the car, we leave them for only last-resort situations so we can conserve resources and keep costs down.

Panel & Frame

Panel and frame repairs can be a bit more labor-intensive, but they’re often the most important repairs to address. Significant damage to your vehicle’s frame and doors can make driving even the shortest distances dangerous, so getting them checked out immediately after an accident is crucial. Driving a vehicle with a misshapen frame can cause more damage to the operating parts. Our trained estimators can give you an idea of how expensive a fix can be.

Bent frames can be easily diagnosed by misaligned components, steering issues, and doors that don’t close. If your car exhibits these issues, it may be time to look into frame alignment procedures. Our professionals can straighten out a bent frame using specific tools like Car-O-Liner. A bent frame requires a lot of force to realign, but what if the damage isn’t fixable? We save frame replacements as a last-resort option, which is usually needed if a frame has visible bends or buckles, or the integrity of the metal has been compromised in other ways.

At Mackin’s, we want to be sure that all of your quarter panels are in alignment and your doors close safely and securely. Our technicians are skilled in panel repair, which means you can trust that your lines will be straight and your doors will be lined up by the end of its stay with us. If your quarter panels and door panels can’t be fixed, we also are skilled in quarter panel replacement and door replacement, using only OEM guidelines, tools, and parts.

Dents

Dents happen! If you find a dent on your car’s panel, door, or fender, don’t worry, it’s not as bad as it looks. Even large dents and dings can be straightened out with the help of a great technician. While we do most forms of auto dent removal at Mackin’s, we do not do PDR (paintless dent removal). Our technicians specialize in fixing deeper, more serious dents by reshaping the metal using long-lasting mending techniques. All dent fixes will require repainting and clear coating.

The dent removal process can be more challenging depending on the location of the damage. Additionally, some metals cannot be straightened. If the dent cannot be reached, or if it’s in a structural location or angle that doesn’t work with the hammer off dolly technique, our technicians may have to remove the area and replace it with a new, OEM quality part.
